Why should I use 1SourceRents.com to search for a rental home?

1SourceRents.com saves you time and gas! You don't need to drive around town looking for your next home when you can narrow your search from the comfort and convenience of your computer. Our website allows landlords to add up to 15 pictures, full descriptions, schools, amenities, leasing specials, applications and maps. You will have all your questions answered before you get in the car to see the house.

How do I contact the landlord if I want to see a home?

1SourceRents.com allows the landlord to put in two contact phone numbers and an email address. You may contact them by either method.

Some of your listings don't have email address, why?

Our landlords have the option of including their email address. We encourage this unless they do not check their email frequently. If you see a listing with only a phone number it is usually because the landlord doesn't use his or her email on a regular basis.

Does it cost anything to search for properties?

No, searching for home on 1SourceRents.com is always free. Not only that but you can sign up for our "Alert Me" feature at no cost as well.

I don't see any properties that I like, can you help me find one?

1SourceRents.com is an advertising service for Landlords to post their vacant homes and tenants to search our database of available homes. We do not have our own listings. If you have not found exactly what you are looking for we encourage you to sign up for our "Alert Me" feature, or contact a property manager in your area by choosing "Find a Property Manager"

What is "Alert Me"?

Alert Me is a great feature that will notify you by email when a property becomes available either for rent or for sale that meets your criteria!

How can I sign up for Alert Me?

  1. If you have chosen "Rental Homes" or "Homes For Sale", you will see Alert me on the blue line under "Manage My Ads".
  2. Click on "Add new Alert" under either "Rentals" or "Buy a Home"
  3. Choose the state in which you would like to add the alert.
  4. Name the "Alert" and choose the criteria you are looking for. Then click on Save New Alert. You can add as many alerts as you would like.

How does "Find a Property Manager" help me?

Property managers can be a fountain of information. If you are moving from another state and don't know anything about an area, property managers can be a great help in finding your next home!

Why list on 1SourceRents.com?

More and more people are using the internet for everything they do. This includes finding a rental home! 1SourceRents.com is an easy way to get all of the information about your property in front of prospective tenants!

Unlike a 3 line newspaper ad, you are free to write paragraphs about your rental home. In addition you can post up to 15 pictures, list the schools that service your property, let the tenant know what the rent and deposit is as well as what, if any, other fees might be included. You can conveniently print a flyer for your information box. All this for FREE!

As for the Tenant, they will be able to pull a map from GoogleTM Maps to get driving directions to your home, or email you while looking at the listing! Every question will be answered before they call to see if your home is available! This saves valuable time for you and the tenant!

How long does an ad run?

Our ads run for 45 days at a time. But it is free and easy to renew.

What does it cost to place an ad on 1SourceRents.com?

Our ads are all FREE.

An ad in a major newspaper only gives you 3 lines, and can cost 4 times as much!

How do I add a listing?

It couldn't be simpler! Follow these easy steps!

  1. If you don't have a user name and password already, go to the top right hand corner and click on "Not Registered".
  2. After registering go to "Manage My Properties"
  3. Choose "Rental" or "For Sale Ad"
  4. If you have not upgraded to Landlord status, you will be asked to do so now. Simply fill out the contact information and "Submit"
  5. Select the state your property is in, hit "Save and Continue"
  6. Enter property address. If you have a "Promo Code" enter it here. Hit "Save and Continue".
  7. For Rental ads, the next page will show you the price of your ad and when it will auto renew. Complete the Property Information Form. At the bottom of this form, you may upgrade your listing. (See Upgrades). When finished, click "Save Changes".
  8. On the next screen you can add up to 15 pictures. Click on add picture, choose the picture from your browser. Click "Upload Picture". Continue the process until you have added all your pictures. When finished click on "Done Managing Images"
  9. The next page is Publish/Upgrade Listings. You may choose to publish your ad now or uncheck the box and publish it later. You may also upgrade your listing for better placement if you choose.
  10. If you have not chosen a platinum listing and would like a yard sign you can order as many as you like from this page. When finished click on "Confirm Order".
  11. The next page is the confirmation page. Confirm you order and click on "Charge My Card".
  12. The last page is your receipt page!

Can I add pictures?

Yes, you can add up to 15 pictures either when you place your ad or later.

Why does my ad auto renew?

1SourceRents.com auto renews for your convenience. Our listings run for 45 days and in most cases if your property is priced right and shows well, it should be rented. But, if your property has not rented you will more than likely want to extend your listing; with auto renewal you don't have to worry about your property expiring. However, if you do want to remove your ad from our site, then you are given that option and you can easily put it back up later.

My property has rented, how do I unpublish it?

  1. Login and click "Manage My Ads"
  2. Next, click on the number of active properties and all your active properties will appear.
  3. Find the property you wish to un-publish then click on the ID number. The next screen will show you the complete listing as well as something we call the "dashboard". The "dashboard" allows you to check stats, edit, un-publish, add or delete pictures.
  4. The first choice on the top left will be un-publish, click on that.
  5. The next screen will ask if you are sure you want to un-publish.
  6. Fill out the short form and choose un-publish property! You're done! Thank you for your business!

What if my property rents and I forget to unpublish it?

You will receive no less than 3 emails at the end of your 45 day listing letting you know that your listing is about to renew. If your property has rented and you no longer wish to receive calls, you can click on the link provided in the email to un-publish your listing.

If I want to re-list my property, do I have to enter in all the data again?

No, after you un-publish an ad it will be stored in the "currently un-published" file. If your tenant moves out and you need to re-list simply,

  1. Login, go "Manage My Properties", click on the "currently un-published" option.
  2. Choose the property you wish to re-list, choose "Publish".
  3. This will take you to the full listing and the dashboard.
  4. Choose "Publish Ad"
  5. Choose the type of ad you would like, Standard, Priority or Platinum.
  6. If you don't choose Platinum and would like to order a yard sign, you may do so at the bottom of this page. Enter in the number of signs you would like, make sure the address listed is where you would like the signs shipped and click on "Confirm Order"
  7. On the next page, make sure your charges are correct and choose "Charge My Card"
  8. The last page is your receipt!

Can I order a sign if I don't get a Platinum listing?

Of course! You will be asked when you are ready to publish your listing if you would like to order a sign.

Can I edit my listing after I have published it?

Yes!

  1. Log on and click "Manage My Properties".
  2. Click on the number of active properties and all your active properties will appear.
  3. Find the property you wish to edit and click on the ID number.
  4. On the top left in the "dashboard", the third choice is "Edit Ad". Click on it and make as many changes to your ad as you would like.
  5. When you are finished click on "Save Changes" and your ad is changed!

Can I change my email address?

Yes!

  1. Log on with your current email address.
  2. Click on "My Account Information" in the top right hand corner.
  3. Click on "Edit your Login Information", make the necessary changes and then click "submit changes".

Can I change my contact information?

Yes!

  1. Log on with your current email address.
  2. Click on "My Account Information" in the top right hand corner. Click on "Edit your Contact Information", make the necessary changes and then click "submit changes".
  3. You can also change your contact information from your "Manage My Properties" screen. Simply choose "Edit My Contact Info".

What is "Alert Me"?
